LEED® Services

Over the past several years, owners, developers, architects, and engineers have begun to favor sustainable development practices to save operational costs, increase asset value, and display an ongoing commitment to the environment. During this time, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System has emerged as the "nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings." More information about this program can be obtained from the U.S. Green Building Council's website: www.usgbc.org

The US Green Building council developed the LEED accreditation process to facilitate sustainable development. As LEED-accredited consultants, we specialize in the following energy-related facets of the LEED system.

Energy Optimization Modeling

DMI's expertise in building energy modeling allows us to help maximize Optimize Energy Performance credits (EAcr1) while navigating the intricacies of the LEED modeling protocol. Read more about energy modeling.

Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning

DMI provides specialized commissioning programs designed to meet the Fundamental Commissioning prerequisite (EApr1) for LEED accreditation or the requirements for Enhanced Commissioning credit (EAcr3). The Enhanced Commissioning track includes extensive design review during the design development process to maximize energy efficiency as well as to facilitate future operations and maintenance. It also includes exhaustive systems testing both during the construction phase and after occupancy, to ensure persistence of energy efficiency measures. Learn more about commissioning.

Measurement & Verification

DMI provides M&V services that conform to the International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol based on Option B. This option isolates individual measures and confirms that they are operating properly through the use of locally collected data including trends from energy management systems, utility bills, and temporarily installed metering.
